Volunteering / Local partners / Sunshine in the rain Foundation (Napsugár az esőben Egyesület)

History: Founded in 1997 by a lady called Kinga Csata who studied Psychology and then worked in Budapest with disabled children. After her stay in Hungary she returned to Romania and shortly after established the Napsugár association. In the beginning the association visited families offering their services but many people were ashamed to admit that they had a child/family member with a disability. Slowly attitudes changed but a big barrier is still the parents and many children in the region still do not receive adequate support.
Aim:
To provide day care to individuals with learning difficulties ranging from Autism, down syndrome, Synchronize and others.
Goals:
  • To improve the living conditions and to promote the development of children and adults with learning difficulties.
  • To support and train professionals working with them.

  • To provide support to families of children and adults with learning difficulties.
